Jupiter and Saturn Vote for Diligence ~ 14 October 2012

During the past few days the Earth has been showered with another one of those lovely aurora-producing, chakra-twirling coronal mass ejections from the Sun. It looks like another is on the way. If you’ve been feeling as if the two-hour drive was longer than a sixteen-hour flight, there is a reason why. If brain cramps have been kinking up new ideas, seek relaxing moments in nature, or prioritize times of meditation, reflection and contemplation.

Now that there’s a reason beyond known transits for the feelings of the past days, Jupiter and Saturn want you to get back to it - “it” being projects in progress, campaigns recently started and theories just developing. During the last days I’ve read a good bit of commentary about Jupiter retrograde and have received a batch of concerned questions about the presumed negative effects.

Let’s start with a retrograde reality check. Jupiter is retrograde a bit above 30 percent of the time. The pesky, dreaded, unfairly feared Mercury retrograde effect takes place slightly more than 19 percent of the time. If these two retrogrades are assumed to prohibit advancement and if they are added together, nearly half the time one must assume that nothing good can happen. Is that a truism? Not even. Now if one wants to go Venus in Virgo and dissect the above percentage proclamation in honor of her immediate square to Jupiter this week, there are times when both planets will be retrograde, like next month, which may reduce the overall time the presumed retardant retrograde effects are in place. Regardless, no one can commit to doing nothing because either Jupiter or Mercury is retrograde. Somewhere between 36 and 49 percent of life would be waited away. Can you afford that much down wasted time?

Remember the retrograde rules: Review, revise, edit, enhance, improve, correct, complete and perform all with a smile that wards off any perceived judgment or criticism from any person pointing out that the retrograde rules apply.

Ten days ago when Jupiter stationed moving retrograde, he did so in opposition to the Kuiper Belt Object, Ixion. The notable point of this story - above the fact that Ixion proved to be an unredeemable individual - is the fact that Jupiter gave Ixion an amazing second chance. So if during this next Jupiter retrograde an investor agrees to review your project again given applied changes or retooling, or if a business partner declares willingness to pursue an alternate course, or some other manifestation of the theme appears, get on it and do your part to apply retrograde rules. Chances are something comes back around for another look. Use recently gained knowledge, experience and wisdom to bring situations around for an improved result.

Presently Jupiter and Saturn move into a sesquiquadrature with one another (a one hundred thirty-five-degree angle). This aspect is one of applied action. The combination demands dedication and discipline to any cause, plan or agenda. The pattern is one where the supply truck has dropped off a pile of lumber and stones. The resources are available and have been delivered to meet up with a previously designed goal, plan or what have you. Now one must put the stones in place, cut the wood and nail the pieces of the fence into place. This action completes the goal of preventing the cows from wandering off. Basically, a sesquiquadrate observes if you don’t do the deeds required, the goals never complete. So if one is deliberating if action is okay with Jupiter retrograde... well, you can see the trajectory.

Conversely, should one track the energy and engage the plan with diligence, the goods can be created to take to market, pitch to investors, submit to editors or present to those in the position of green-lighting your aspirations.

Granted, the sesquiquad does operate as a bit of an unconscious aspect. Environmental indicators, life signs and physical stimuli need heeding. If one were a long distance runner and pacing on the far side of the course where no one can see the results, one might hear the approaching footsteps of a competitor. The sounds of the runner’s approach signals a need to adjust pacing to stay in the lead. All the while, the subtle topography of the course ahead deserves a review to select the clearest path. In life, when the sense of “you need to do this now before it’s too late or someone else gets there first” appears, get on with it. Though there may be no clear evidence that the sands of the hourglass are trickling through faster than they appear, this Jupiter-Saturn pattern notes the ticking of the clock.

Jupiter and Saturn demand timely action, not deference. Should one’s chart be potently activated, and should one be waiting to see who wins the Presidential election before deciding to launch a business, buy a property, sell a property or whatever action remains pending, the optimal window of opportunity may be missed.

In but a fortnight, Mars joins this fray by working into an opposition to Jupiter. Will you be ready? I’ll post again before then. Meanwhile, the strange sounding sesquiquadrate is advocating for those who act.
